Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at the Community United Methodist in Ogden. Pastor Evelyn Lewiston will officiate. Visitation will be prior to services on Tuesday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Community United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Maas Cemetery, rural Ogden. William John Burt was born on October 16, 1954, in Boone, Iowa, the son of William “Bill” and Deloris (Elsberry) Burt. He graduated with the Ogden High School class of 1973.
On April 5, 1980, Billy was united in marriage to Denise Renae Anderson in Ogden, Iowa. They were blessed with two children, Angie and Eric.
Billy worked for many years as a mechanic and later as a heavy equipment operator for Boone County Secondary Roads. He also farmed in Boone County, retiring in 2020.
He enjoyed hunting & fishing, farming, and listening to rock & roll music, especially “The Doors”.
Survivors include his wife of 42 luscious years, Denise Burt of Ogden, IA; daughter, Angie Burt of Ames, IA; son, Eric Burt (fiancé, January Searcy) of Boone, IA; his grandchildren, Carter John Cram and Paige Searcy; brother, Ric (Jackie) Burt of Stratford, IA; sister, Brenda (Dennis) Clark of Shawnee, KS; and several nieces and nephews.
