Died: 14-Jan-2001 Bonnie Jean Barnick, age 66, of Sandstone, Minnesota, passed away at the Pine Medical Health Care Center in Sandstone on Sunday, January 14, 2001, after a long struggle with cancer.
She was born May 27, 1934, in Sandstone to William E. and Minnie Barnick. She attended Sandstone Public School, was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and lived her entire life in Sandstone.
Bonnie was never married. She was employed at the Sandstone Nursing Home for many years. She was loved by the patients and was always gentle, kind, loving and considerate of them and willing to take time to make each one comfortable and feel wanted and loved.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents and brother-in-law, Bill Jokela, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Bonnie is survived by her loving stepfather, Roger Frase, of Sandstone, two sisters, Wanda (Bob) Barringer of Apopka, Florida, and Marilyn Jokela of Sandstone; one brother, William (Delene) Barnick of Inverness, FL; Nieces Beth Ann (Dr. David) Theiste and family, Grand Rapids, MI; Debra (Gus) Keriazes and family, Groveland, FL; Linda (Nick) Markell and family, Apopka, FL and Lani (Aaron) Byrd of Inverness, FL; and Nephews Tracy (Theresa) Jokela, Hinckley, MN; Bobby Barringer, Kennesaw, GA and Billy (Christy) Barnick and family, Floral City, FL; several aunts and uncles, cousins, friends, and her Sheltie Dog Shep, whom she loved dearly.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date with inurnment at Spring Park Cemetery, Sandstone. Arrangements were made by Methven Funeral Home, Sandstone, MN.
