Died: 20-Mar-2011   Myrtle Christine Curry VanDerSchaegen, 86, of Horn Lake, died Sunday, March 20, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital - DeSoto. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, at National Funeral Home in Grenada. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, at National Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Larry Hays officiating. Burial followed in Bethel Cemetery at Oxberry.
Myrtle was born on Nov. 20, 1924, in Grenada County to William Pink Curry and Martha Annie Denley Curry. She was a member of the Church of God and was employed as a mental health therapist.
Mrs. VanDerSchaegen was preceded in death by her parents, William and Martha Curry; her husband, Anthony (Tony) VanDerSchaegen; one foster son, Jody Hanson; one sister, Flora Keeton; and one brother, Floyd Curry.
Survivors include her daughter, Martha Jean Inman of Horn Lake; one foster son, Bob Murett of Wausau, Wis.; three sisters, Ruth Hughes of Covington, La., Lena Tilghman of Jackson, and Lois Staten of Winona; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
National Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
