He was born Sept. 24, 1973, in Ironwood, Mich., to William J. and Nancy (Van Der Schaegen) Leavitt. He graduated from high school in Coon Rapids and moved to Elbow Lake.

He is survived by the love of his life and the mother of his children, Sherri Eckman; children: Mitchel, Mason and Mya; mother, Nancy Leavitt of Elbow Lake; brother, Billy (Betsy) of Foley; sister, Leah (Kris Shaw) of Andover; grandmother, Marie Leavitt of Colorado; and nieces and nephews: Danika, Kylie, Caige, Chase, Emma, Austin, Alyssa, and another nephew or niece due in March 2005. He was preceded in death by his father, William Joseph Leavitt; grandfather, Clarence Leavitt; and grandparents, Rudy and Ida Van Der Schaegen. Visitation: Sunday, Oct. 3, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and Monday at the church one hour prior to services Service: 11 a.m. Monday at Bethlehem/West Elbow Lake Lutheran Church in Elbow Lake Clergy: Rev.
