Died: 11-Feb-2011 On Feb. 11, 2011, Lawrence Henry August Vanderschaeghe died peacefully at his home, in Masset, BC, with Evelyn by his side. Lawrence was born in Virden, MB on August 22, 1945 and was 65 years of age. He had bravely fought his battle with Non-Hodgkin?s Lymphoma for 15 years. He is survived by Evelyn, his wife of 41 years; his mother Antoinette from Saskatoon, SK; daughter Tammie Roziere and husband Roger of Oak Lake, MB; daughter Jennifer of Red Deer, AB; daughter Tobi Langlois and husband Patrick of Red Deer, AB; grandsons Zachary and Jacob Langlois of Red Deer, AB. He is also survived by his siblings Maurice Vanderschaeghe (Johnell) of Pilot Butte, SK, Emily Poppel (Gary) of Headingly, MB and Irene Brown (Doug) of Saskatoon, SK. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Nora and Harold Lyons, Cochrane, AB, brother-in-law, Dennis and Verdell Smith, Masset, BC and a number of nieces, nephews, many friends and colleagues. He was predeceased by his father, Henry in 2004, his brother Roger in infantcy, his sister Marie in infancy, and his grandparents. Lawrence received his schooling in Oak Lake, MB and traning as a Psychiatric Nurse in Brandon, MB. He worked as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse in the Brandon Mental Hospital, as a Mental Health Worker in Manitoba and Alberta and as a Public Guardian representative in Alberta. He spent a number of years volunteering on the Psychiatric Nursing Associations in Manitoba and Alberta. He will be remembered for his courageous and positive spirit during his many challenges over the past 15 years. A ?Celebration of Life? memorial will be held in Red Deer, AB on April 9, 2011.
